The Design in the City Competition challenges design students in Singapore to create outdoor furniture that will be installed at two public areas within Mapletree Business City (MBC), namely the Open Plaza and Eco Pond. The furniture will create spaces of inspiration and interaction for the people working at MBC, bringing a touch of languid calm to the dynamic business environment.
Mapletree would like to invite tertiary students in Singapore to design outdoor furniture that is functional, ergonomic and yet thought-provoking, that is also akin to pieces of art. The entries will be judged on the innovativeness, buildability and functionality of its design, as well as on the use of sustainable materials for the furniture.
Two grand prizes of S$12,000 in cash each and two runner-up prizes of S$1,500 Mapletree cash vouchers each will be awarded.
To participate in Design in the City, please refer to the competition brief, download the Entry Form and email your submission to submit@MBCdesigninthecity.com. All entries must also be submitted hardcopy to Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd, 10 Pasir Panjang Road #13-01 Mapletree Business City, Singapore 117438.
